In this episode, we break down one of the most overlooked concepts in biomechanics: internal pressure—how your breathing, rib cage, and pelvis create the foundation for movement, stability, and force production.

How breathing shapes movement: Why inhalation increases abdominal pressure and improves mobility, while exhalation increases pelvic/rib pressure for force production.

Why the diaphragm leads every movement: It contracts 70 milliseconds before your limbs move.

Pressure + performance: How internal pressure determines strength, internal rotation, stability, and efficiency.

Exercise strategies to manipulate pressure:

Sidelying variations

Farmer carries

Hinges & heavy squats

Split squat variations for different pressure needs

All movement starts from the inside out.

If pressure isn’t managed, force leaks—and compensation patterns show up.

Better pressure = better movement, strength, and control.
