SPECIAL LIVE RECORDING WITH REUBEN KAYE!

Today we have an exciting episode – a recording of the sold-out Live Show I did recently with comedy, camp, cabaret superstar Reuben Kaye! This episode is unlike others. It was recorded in front of a live audience, with a man under the age of 40 and it totally went off the rails. It was a special for IDAHOBIT day – the international day against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. And it’s bloody fabulous!

Reuben and I talk about his early dating days, his experiences at school as a boy ahead of his time (that bit will make you cry). We talked some of his sexual preferences, his sexcapades and he poked at fun at me, whilst I laughed at him. (I told him off once or twice too). Reuben is just wonderful. He was hilarious – side-splittingly so – but also raw and vulnerable. I am pretty sure he went places he doesn’t usually go in interviews and man; we were the beneficiaries.

A trigger warning: it’s probably the best part of the episode but we do get into intergenerational trauma and there’s some discussion of suicide.

And Bonus – writer, creator and singer of the Dear Nelly theme song, Casey Bennetto sings the theme song live.
