Revenge of the 90s: A Movie Podcast

Somehow we botched a Richard Donner assassin movie starring Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Banderas, and Julianne Moore - with a script from the Wachowskis - but at least we got one of the greatest GIFs of all time out of it. Let's talk about this unfortunately forgettable 1995 action film and see where it all went (mostly) wrong.

It's rare to watch a baseball movie where the filmmakers had just about zero interest in the sport itself, but hey, here we are with 1996's The Fan. Come check out this bizarre Tony Scott film with us, especially if you love the subgenre of Robert De Niro being a creepy stalker. Follow us on social too @revengeof90spod!

We love Brendan Fraser and The Mummy so much that we risked our lives entering a time portal to the 21st century so we could watch and talk about The Mummy Returns (2001)! Join us as we enter this strange new world (for one episode at least). Follow us on social too @revengeof90spod!

We've got a special treat for you this episode, because we're talking about one of the greatest movies of all time. 'Saving Private Ryan' is an incredible film that shifted the way we think about WWII in some ways, stripping away that typical Hollywood sheen when it came to movies about the war. It's an important film, which makes it all the more baffling that it didn't win Best Picture. Be sure to check us out on social too @revengeof90spod.

'Jerry Maguire' might have more iconic quotes than any other '90s movie, but have you seen this thing lately? It's insanely sincere, way too long, and a strange watch in today's especially cynical world. And Tom Cruise's performance occasionally borders on terrifying, but that's just '90s Tom Cruise for you. James Bond and Michelle Yeoh kicking ass in 1997's 'Tomorrow Never Dies' makes for one of the most fun - and prescient - entries in the franchise, even if this one does feel a bit forgotten. Get your Bond fix here and be sure to follow us on social @revengeof90spod.

Did you know that 1992's 'Encino Man' now features TWO Oscar-nominated actors? Sadly, neither is Pauly Shore, but we are going to talk about that and more in this episode. Join us for the ride and then check us out on social media @revengeof90spod.

Brace yourselves for a hearty dose of nostalgia, dripping in Ivan's purple ooze, as this episode takes us back to 1995 and the first big-screen adventure for our beloved Power Rangers. It's got skydiving, rollerblading, a horrible CGI finale, and ending credits fueled by Van Halen. What's not to like? Be sure to check us out on social too @revengeof90spod.

It's time to jack in, baby! In this episode, we talk about the movie that almost derailed Kathryn Bigelow's career - 1995's Strange Days, starring Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, Juliette Lewis, and Tom Sizemore's insane wig. Let's get a peek at our dystopian future with this one, and when you're done, be sure to check us out on social media @revengeof90spod.

We're closing out the year with a holiday classic - 1999's Eyes Wide Shut! Join us as we discuss the heartwarming tale of a man who's just out here trying to have sex with somebody - anybody - and stumbles upon a delightful little cult in the woods.
