Typically women argue to connect, while men argue to win which is why it's very difficult to win in an argument with your wife.

Persuasive communication is the key to avoid being the bad cop in the conversation. If you do this, you will be able to not only get what you want in that situation but also get connection and intimacy with your partner during the communication.

As a man, it is very more important that you validate what your partner feels, make her understand that she is your priority and that you don't want her to feel otherwise.

Hold your ground and communicate calmly. State what you don't want and what you do want in that situation but at the same time, understand what outcome she wants in that situation so that she will feel seen, heard, and understood.

In order for you to be able to hold your ground in these situations, you must have a strong foundation first. Focus on yourself, know who you are as a man, and know that there is a powerful man inside you.
