What a fun conversation! After years of running on a treadmill, Heather Wolf-Malone started running outside two years ago at age 40. A friend convinced her to enter a 5K. She surprised herself by finishing just over 20 minutes, earning first in her age group. Since that race, Heather has continued to improve, win her age group and surpass her own expectations. Heather is now a member of the Charm City Run Racing Team, an ambassador for Rabbit, and a brand ambassador for Run 4 All Women, which uses running as a vehicle for social change.
Before becoming a runner, Heather was a professional ballerina. She shared her journey from an aspiring baseball player to professional dancer to the director of the dance program at Garrison Forest, a private K-12 school in Baltimore. She shares how her experience as a professional dancer has helped her become a leader in her running community and change the optics of women of color runners over 40.
