Sadler's Lectures

This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th-21st century philosopher John Sellars' recent article "What Is Philosophy As A Way Of Life" (Parrhesia, vol. 28)

It discusses specifically the three main views on Philosophy As A Way Of Life that he discusses - as humanistic philosophy; as a "third way" between analytic and continental philosophy; and philosophy as therapy.

It focuses specifically on the understanding of human freedom as a fundamental value for ethics, centering on her phrase "willing oneself free"
