After more than two years away from the spotlight, Samantha Armytage is back — and she’s entering what she calls her “act two”.

In this conversation, Samantha opens up about the enormous changes she’s faced since leaving her role as co-host of Sunrise in 2021: marriage, separation, grief, even learning to walk again after hip surgery — and why she now feels stronger, calmer, and happier than ever.

As she returns to television to host The Golden Bachelor, Sam reflects on visibility for women over 50, what she’s learnt about resilience, and the unexpected freedom that comes with caring a lot less about what other people think. She also addresses those dating rumours about her and the star of The Golden Bachelor, what the women in the show’s cast can teach us about self-worth, and why this new chapter feels like the most authentic of her career.
