The Satisfaction Cycle is a concept that comes from Body Mind Centering and has impacted the field of Somatic Psychology. It describes how our developmental movement patterns influence our actions and sense of self in the world.
These developmental movement patterns were all important ways that you as a baby experienced the world through your body. Any of these movement patterns that innately occur can get interrupted by your home life, traumatic experiences, and life situations.
In this week’s episode, I dive into what these developmental patterns are and what can happen in your relationship with food if any one of these is interrupted.
