Australian Jewish leaders like many of their counterparts in the USA are concerned about the forthcoming Presidency of Donald Trump and his appointment of alt-right and even anti-Semitic spokesmen to his administration, whilst pleased about his pro-Israel stand and conversation with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. A 94 year old Sydney man Harry Fransman, a former Dutch army serviceman, and a survivor of Auschwitz and 4 other Nazi concentration camps, met the Dutch King and Queen during their Sydney visit recently and he captivated the royal couple with his amazing life-story, which has been described in a book, which he will send to the king when he returns to Holland. Some 25,000 Australian Jews took part in a myriad of communal activities, as part of the annual Sabbath Project, an event which attracts more than an estimated one million Jews around the world.  )
