With storm damages costs spiraling out of control, one Aussie inventor has come up with a better way to keep people dry while waiting for repairs. His invention, Stormseal, is literally a 'shrink wrap' for houses, applied with the help of a gas gun. 

Ahead of human exploration of the planet Mars an army of new robotic rovers is being sent to investigate the Martian surface and atmosphere in 2020. The Chinese Mars 2020 mission will feature both an orbiter and a lander. Meanwhile, ExoMars - a joint mission between the European Space Agency (ESA) and Russia's Roscosmos whose ground-penetrating drill will help scientists study Mars at depth - is expected to be launched in July-August 2020.  One of the newer entrants is the United Arab Emirates which is aiming to send its first spacecraft to Mars this year. 

A 20 year old man who had not travelled overseas immediately prior to his illness and had no known links to previously identified measles cases has been confirmed to have contracted measles. The World Health Organisation says measles is transmitted via droplets from the nose, mouth or throat of infected people with symptoms usually appearing 10-12 days after infection. Dr Leena Gupta from the Sydney Local Health District is advising people to be alert to the symptoms of measles.

At least eight people are dead and hundreds of properties have been destroyed in East Gippsland in Victoria and on the South Coast of New South Wales.
