He was a singer-songwriter, music producer, and musician known for his works in Telugu cinema, Tamil cinema, Kannada cinema, and Malayalam cinema. It is his birth centenary. திரை இசைத் திலகம் K.V.மகாதேவன் அவர்களின் நூற்றாண்டு விழா (1918 – 2018) இந்த ஆண்டு கொண்டாடப்படும் இவ்வேளையில் அவர் குறித்த நான்குவாரத் தொடரை முன்வைக்கிறார் சுந்தரதாஸ் அவர்கள். குரல் கொடுத்தவர்: விஜி சுந்தர். நிகழ்ச்சி தயாரிப்பு: றைசெல்.  பாகம்: 4 (நிறைவுப்பாகம்).   

A celebrated novelist Balakumaran passed away in Tamil Nadu. He forayed into Tamil literature by starting off with poetry but focused on prose later and became one of the prominent writers in Tamil.  His popular novels include 'Mercury Pookal' and 'Irumbu Kuthiraigal' which earned him a good fan following. Balakumaran also published a number of short stories and later entered Tamil cinema through script and dialogue writing. Raj, our correspondent in Tamil Nadu, interviewed novelist Balakumaran in 2008. It’s a rebroadcast of the interview – Part 1. Interviewed by Raj, our correspondent in Tamil Nadu.   

“எழுத்துச் சித்தர்” என்று எல்லோராலும் போற்றிக் கொண்டாடப்படும் எழுத்தாளர் பாலகுமாரன் காலமானார். அவருக்கு வயது 72. 'மெர்க்குரிப்பூக்கள்', 'தலையணைப்பூக்கள்', 'கரையோர முதலைகள்', 'பயணிகள் கவனிக்கவும்', 'இரும்பு குதிரைகள்' என்று 200-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட நாவல்கள் மற்றும் 100-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சிறுகதைகளையும், சில கவிதைகளையும், கட்டுரைகளையும் எழுதியுள்ளார். தமிழக அரசின் கலைமாமணி விருது உள்ளிட்ட பல விருதுகளைப் பெற்றிருக்கிறார்.

A celebrated novelist Balakumaran passed away in Tamil Nadu. He won several awards, including Tamil Nadu government’s Kalaimamani. His short stories appeared in popular magazines like Ananda Vikatan, Kalki and Kumudam. Several writers, actors and literary critics expressed their condolences over Balakumaran’s death. இந்தியாவின் கர்நாடகா மாநிலத்தில் நடந்து முடிந்த சட்டமன்ற தேர்தலில் ஆளும் காங்கிரஸ் கட்சி, எதிர்கட்சியான பாரதிய ஜனதா கட்சி, மற்றும் மதசார்பற்ற ஜனதா தளம் என்று மூன்று கட்சிகளுக்கும் அடுத்த ஆட்சி அமைக்க பெரும்பான்மை கிடைக்கவில்லை. இந்த பின்னணியில் நிலவும் குழப்பங்களை விவரணமாக்கி பார்வைகள் நிகழ்ச்சியில் முன்வைக்கிறார் நமது தமிழக செய்தியாளர் ராஜ்.    

A civil engineer by profession, Dr.M.Anandakrishnan obtained his Doctoral degree from University of Minnesota, United States. He was a Professor of Civil Engineering at IIT Kanpur and was an Honorary Fellow of the Indian Society for Technical Education. Dr Anandakrishnan is a recipient of several honours and awards including the UGC National Swami Pranavananda Saraswati Award in Education and the Distinguished Leadership Award from the University of Minnesota. The Presidents of Brazil and India presented him Scientific Merit Award in 1996 and Padma Shri in 2002.

Dr.M.Anandakrishnan spoke to RaySel of SBS-Tamil about his accomplishments and dreams. 

தமிழ்நாட்டில் கடைநிலையிலிருந்து உயர்ந்து கல்வியில் உச்சம் தொட்ட அண்ணா பல்கலைக் கழகத்தின் முன்னாள் துணைவேந்தர், பேராசிரியர், முனைவர் மு.அனந்தகிருஷ்ணன் அவர்கள் காலமானார். அவருக்கு வயது 93. கோவிட் தொற்றால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த மு.அனந்தகிருஷ்ணன் அவர்கள் சென்னை தனியார் மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தநிலையில் சிகிச்சை பலனின்றி உயிரிழந்தார். அவரின் சாதனைகளும், அவர் பெற்ற இந்திய மற்றும் சர்வதேச விருதுகளும் ஏராளம். கடந்த 2018ம் ஆண்டு அவர் நமக்கு வழங்கிய நேர்முகத்தின் இரண்டாவது பாகம்.
