How does the team stack up? Ben Fred tells us his thoughts for how they can be winners. Is this the final weekend for Barry Odom as football coach? Who could his replacement be?

We talk more about rushing into an early contact extension for Yadier Molina. Ben Fred advises that maybe it’s not necessary to jump so quick. Why so?

  • Derrick Goold – November 19, 2019
Derrick Goold is with us this morning from the GM meetings. We get into the discussion, repercussions and future changes to the game of baseball regarding the sign stealing scandal by the Astros. What is the word on the penalties? What about those involved who are still in the game, specifically in management roles? Since the Astros pushed so hard to penalize the Cardinals for the computer hacking issue, will anyone come to their defense for a lighter sentence?

Also, we talk Hall of Fame. What about Larry Walker's chances? Derrick Goold talk about pace of play, length of games, the plethora of strikeouts and more from Vegas. Should they limit the shift? Listen here:

An annual face-to-face meeting with Ben Fred this morning. First things first; What does he say about Mike Shildt's Manager of the Year Award as opposed to Craig Counsell? What exactly were the reasons Shildt won out? Dan says a lot of his ability comes from the tenure he had in the minor leagues where he was able to hone in on good communication skills and development. Will this start a trend for managers who haven't played in the major leagues?

We talk about Wainwright's contract for 2020 and how he has solidified his worth over and over. So how long will Molina stay around and be able to play too? What's left in the tank? Dan says he's elite and defensively, he's still tops. Ben Fred says, though, he'd be hesitant to give him an extension before it's necessary. Is he a Hall of Fame lock? What about other Cardinals circling the Hall of Fame like Ted Williams?

Mizzou football has three games left. Are any of them wins? We talk more about Barry Odom's job security and the real reasons for the deflated season.

SLU Billikens basketball has started off hot and have a big test on Sunday vs. Seton Hall. The free throw line has been their nemesis, though. Travis Ford was one of the best free throw shooters of his time so how does he help fix the errors? Listen here:
