With a home playoff game on the horizon, the Seahawks have announced major contract extension for offensive lineman Charles Cross. Sunday's reports have it announced as a four-year extension, and this appears to be in addition to the 2026 season Seattle had tagged him for a fifth-year option. We also talk about what the Seahawks may want to do at running back in the offseason. Following Sunday's slate of games, the playoff positions are all set. There are four potential teams the Seahawks will face in the Divisional round and we take a look at what needs to happen next weekend and where the odds currently sit for each game. Based on current odds, a matchup with the Rams appears to be the most likely. But the Packers could upset the Bears and find themselves heading to Seattle where they've been winless in the postseason.

We highlight the ineptitude of the 49ers offense that was considered one of the hottest in football coming into Week 18. But CMC and Purdy were shut down entirely thanks to relentless pressure from the Seahawks front. Nick Emmanwori stood out as he continues his campaign for defensive rookie of the year and Drake Thomas came up with a clutch turnover late in the game to help keep the Niners out of the end zone. The offense didn't need many points. They controlled the clock with Ken Walker and Zach Charbonnet balancing out an efficent game by Sam Darnold. The biggest critique was a missed touchdown opportunity that could have broken the 49ers spirit much earlier. The Seattle Seahawks will need to go through the San Francisco 49ers to take the number one seed that they've needed for each of the Super Bowl runs. The Niners offense is on a hot streak, but how much of it is due to high level play vs low caliber NFL defenses? Before we look ahead to the Seahawks Saturday night battle against the San Francisco 49ers, let's look back at the micro-moments in the Panthers game that kept Seattle in the pole position in the NFC. To kick things off, Ty Okada and and Drake Thomas were key in providing some sound tackling and effective run support. Additionally, we dial in on how Nick Emmanwori and Julian Love helped contain the outside runs when the Panthers tried to change things up. On offense, the focus goes to the play of the offense following the Julian Love interception - it was a physical, clock-controlling dirve that set up their late touchdown. But in traditional 3 IN, 3 OUT style, it wasn't all sunshine and roses. There were some badly whiffed blocks up front, Ken Walker tried a bit too much to bounce to the outside, and Sam Darnold did not choose wisely on his only interception/non-interception on the day.

The Seahawks defense put on a clinic against the Panthers, suffocating Carolina's offense and consistently pressuring Bryce Young. The defense limited Young to less than 60 yards through the air and Julian Love picked off Young once. Rico Dowdle actually had more yards on the ground by himself than the entire passing offense. Zach Charbonnet's 122 yards nearly eclipsed the Panthers 139 total yards and his two touchdowns would have been all the offense they needed. Ultimately, the Seahawks 27-10 victory keeps them on pace to win the NFC West and take the top seed heading into the playoffs. There is one unlikely scenario that could lock up the top spot by Tuesday, but a Niners loss to the Bears could make next week's matchup relatively meaningless for San Fran.
