As the mother of young children living in the Midwest, Ginny Yurich was exhausted and felt like her kids were not thriving. After reading a recommendation that young children should be outside 4-6 hrs a day, she decided to change how they were spending their time and the family started getting outside on a regular basis. She immediately noticed physical and emotional changes in her kids, and how much better she felt too–refreshed even! She decided to share what she'd learned and created the 1,000 Hours Outside Movement: a practice for those who want a slower childhood and a fuller life. She now has a community of over 500k people online who are doing just that.
