Do self acceptance and weight loss go together? Is that even possible? And if so, how do we even begin to navigate that?
This is a controversial conversation, and a super important one.
If you want to love yourself, accept your body, and lose weight at the same time, you are not alone.
And you are not wrong.
Let's talk about where these seemingly contradictory desires meet and how we can make both self love and weight loss a reality for you.
You don't have to choose, and I have a really juicy resource to help you out.

Exploring the ways in which we can actively bring more love into our lives is an important part of this journey!
One simple, yet incredibly effective tool is meditation.
For many it can feel like it's too religious/spiritual (it doesn't have to be), too confronting, complicated, or simply an unknown "weird thing" that other people do...
So let's break it down. In this episode we talk about what meditation is, what it isn't, some of the benefits you can expect when you commit to a regular practice, and we explore how it is a fabulous addition to your self love journey.
Plus there are some great free resources available to you down in the show notes!

Accepting yourself can be challenging at any age, but when you start growing a beard as a teenage girl and you don't know why, it can add a whole extra layer of shame and self doubt.
Living with PCOS (Polycyctic Ovarian Syndrome) is something today's guest has been dealing with for many years, and she is here to give us all permission to unapologetically love ourselves just as we are right now.
Yes - Gennevieve is your self love fairy godmother - and she is here to represent people living with hirsutism and take away any shame or stigma around this common condition. This episode is full of laughter, wisdom, and a whole lot of inspiration.
_____
Gennevieve Vaillancourt is a Bearded Woman, Β Empowerment & Mindset Coach, PCOS & Hirsutism Advocate and Mother living in Ontario Canada. She started growing hair on her face at the age of 15 due to a hormonal condition called PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome).
After several years being silent about her Hirsutism, removing the hair to "fit in" with societal norms and hiding her shame she got tired of hating herself, grew out her beard and took a Radical Stand for Self Acceptance & Self Love.
Since then she has been featured on Studio Ten, Fabulous To Meet You, The Positivity Fix & Shake My Beauty. She is now sharing her self love tools & mindset techniques with other women & non-binary people by supporting them in reconnecting with their authentic selves through her Feminine Mindset Transformation program.
She is committed to helping women & non-binary people learn how to love themselves authentically so that they can confidently create thriving connections with others & reconnect with their true selves from a place of worthiness.
When she is not playing with her three year old, working with clients or learning from other women you can find her barefoot in her kitchen, methodically preparing kale salad or connecting to nature.

The meanings you choose to assign to events dictates how you feel about them... and yes, it is a choice!
Your brain is constantly taking in information, analyzing it, and creating meanings out of it.
Itβs one of the amazing ways our brains are always working for us on autopilot β keeping us safe and keeping life ticking ahead with ease.
However, that doesnβt mean this system is without its pitfalls.
Today we are talking about helping your brain make meanings of things that support your growth instead of keeping you trapped in the same old cycles.Β
Understanding that itβs the meanings behind circumstances that dictate how we feel and not the circumstances themselves is HUGE!
It's time to teach your brain how to create a new loving, supportive, growth-centered reality.

What we call self love is often seen as the end goal, but today I speak with Adelina who sees it as just the beginning. The new baseline.
She opens up and shares her own journey to self love(+) starting from early childhood trauma, discovering she had a spiritual gift at a young age that she was told to hide from the world, and eventually being put in a position to forgive someone who hurt her deeply.
Adelina is funny and refreshingly real about her story and now stands proud and strong in embracing this incredible ancestral spiritual gift she was given.

Adelina Tancioco, MSW, is trained as a mental health & restorative justice practitioner, and certified coach & consultant, however, she most identifies with being a vessel of healing.
She has intuitive gifts that have been passed down in her family for generations. She has spent more than half of her life learning from her ancestors and God about how to connect with those who have passed, those who are alive and in pain, and most importantly our own inner knowing.
As the founder of Surrendered Healing, she specializes in serving Women of Color who question their inherent deservingness and helps them trust their higher selves to create the abundant businesses and lives they truly deserve!

Welcome to the 100th episode of Self Love Ignited!!! This is such an incredible benchmark to have reached and I could not be more proud of all of the growth and positive change this podcast has influenced so far.
Do you find trusting yourself hard?
What about believing in the Universe/God/Higher Power?
Have you heard the term "surrender" around the personal development space but don't know what the heck it means or how you can get there?
In this episode I tell you about a couple of times I've surrendered (the creation of the podcast is one of those times!) and how things have worked out better than I could ever have imagined.Β
Plus I give you a simple practice you can incorporate to build your trust in yourself, your trust in the Universe, listen to your intuition with ease, and tap into your ability to surrender gracefully.
It's time to drop the overwhelm, reduce your anxiety, and build a life that's better than you could ever imagine.

Does the title of this episode make you cringe? If you answered yes, then you know it was made just for you.
Celebrating your achievements, benchmarks and your wins is an important, yet much overlooked, step in personal growth.
It's the pause where you look up and go "damn look what I did! If I did all that, I wonder what else is possible..."
But it's common to feel guilt, shame, and a lot of discomfort around this.
In this episode we unpack where those feelings come from, plus I give you one simple tool that you can implement right away to help you learn to celebrate yourself with ease on your journey to self acceptance.

In this episode I chat with Tosha Toste who is is a full-time recruiter by trade, but in her free time is a mental health and body positivity advocate. She shares her journey of struggling with an eating disorder, depression and anxiety as a young person and not knowing who she was. Along the way she has learned to love the woman she is, she is an advocate for people following what lights them up, and is a powerhouse of inspiration and beacon of hope for so many.
She has competed in pageants for 16 years and has spent that time promoting her platform "Imperfectly, Perfect". Imperfectly, Perfect focuses on teaching mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health, to ultimately help find self-love and fulfillment. Her platform is all based on her own personal experiences, from an eating disorder as a young girl to her diagnoses of anxiety and depression.
Through the last 16 years of promoting on her message, Tosha has had the privilege of helping start a non-profit called SELFiD, sitting on the board of multiple non-profits focused on health, sharing her story and platform to multiple audiences, and most recently became a Body Positivity Ambassador.
