On March 20, 2005, Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Dewayne Graham Jr. had just finished a shift when he was fatally gunned down in his own driveway. When a suspect was arrested days later, there was little doubt that investigators had caught the sergeant’s cold-blooded killer. But a question rang out that still resonates to this day: should there have been doubt? Or was it easier for investigators to craft their own narrative and fill in the details later?
