At a certain age, kids want nothing more than to grow up. We think being an adult is glamourous. That people will take us seriously and think we’re cool—and so we like hanging out with older people who make us feel like the idealized adults we envision ourselves to be. 

 

But as we know—that dream of adulthood is a big lie... but some people never find this out. It's not because they’re lucky. It’s because their futures were taken from them.
