足球可以说是世界上第一大运动。世界杯也是足球的最顶级的赛事。足球这项运动充满了魅力和激情，吸引了世界上无数人的关注和参与。中国人也很喜欢足球，但是中国男子足球队这么多年来一直是中国人的笑话。成了耻辱和失败的代名词。那为什么中国这样一个大国，男足却这么差呢？

主要原因就是体制问题：跟很多中国很多运动一样，中国足球受到从上而下的”举国体制”的影响。中国足协（足球协会）和国家队的官员们有着极大的权力。这种至高的行政权力就造成了腐败和资源浪费。比如在中国男足，有时候不是你踢得好就能进国家队，上场比赛，而是，你需要跟领导关系好才行。不管是教练还是球员，只是有能力是不行的。也是由于这种国家化的管理和组织形式，足球这种植根于社区的运动并没有发展起来。在中国，没有完善的从低到高的联赛体系。如果想踢足球，就要进入体制内的专业足球体校训练，选拔。而这样就又容易造成腐败。
