第10课

1. It costs a lot of money to develop a product. 要开发一项产品需要花费许多钱。
develop “发展”“开发”，product “产品”。
cost 也可以用 take 代替，说 It takes a lot of money to develop a product.
也可以说 It's expensive to... “……很贵”，expensive 是“昂贵的”，比如说 It's expensive to develop a product. 开发产品很贵。
develop a product 也可以用 to produce something new 来表示。 

2. He's taking on too many responsibilities. 他承担太多的工作（责任）。

take on 是“承担”的意思。too many...是“太多...” ，后面跟可数名词；不可数名词的话是 too much...。
在工作上，be confident of one's ability “相信自己的能力”是好事，confident“自信的”。但是，be too confident of one's ability “过分相信自己的能力” 容易引人批评。
别人可能会说，
That's more than he can handle. 那件事他无法胜任。
He's biting off more than he can chew. （他）贪多嚼不烂。 bite 是“咬”，chew 是“嚼”。

3. This busy schedule really makes my stomach churn. 紧凑（忙碌）的行程让我肚子疼。
churn 是“搅拌”“翻腾”，make one's stomach churn 就是“令人肚子疼”。
如果说“被压力压得透不过气来”是 stress out， stress 是“压力”，可以说 This stresses me out. 这让我喘不过来气。
看了我的日程表让我头晕脑胀。Looking at my schedule makes my head spin.  spin 是“快速旋转”“眩晕”，make my head spin “让我头晕脑胀”。
这时候，为何不休息一下，喝杯咖啡呢？ Why don't you take a coffee break?
