第3课

1. I look over the document. 我大致看一下文件。
look over 是指比较快地、大略地检查或者看，也可以用 scan 或 skim through 或 glance through。
“阅读，看（文件）”是用 read，“查阅（文件）”是用 check 或 review，“仔细看或阅读”是用 study 或 go through 或 go over，可以说 I went through the document again. 我再次仔细阅读了文件。

2. I submit the document. 我提交文件。
submit 是“提交”，可以用 turn in 或 hand in 来代替，比如 I turned(handed) in the document to my boss on time. 我如期向老板提交了文件。
on time 是“准时”“如期”的意思，这里 on time 还可以换成 on the due date，due date 是“到期日，截止日期”。
另外，第二章第9课学过 in time 是“在期限/时间之内”。

3. There's a pile of papers on my desk. 我桌上的文件堆积如山。
第二章第8课学过 a pile of... 堆积如山，可以用 a stack of...。
要注意，上一课说了 papers 可以和 documents 互换，“文件、资料”的意思，要用复数形式 papers；如果是单数形式 paper 意思则是“纸张”，所以，a pile of papers 是“一堆文件”，而 a pile of paper 是“一堆纸”。
