第13课

1. I have to check the balance of my bank account. 我要查一下银行户头的余额。
balance 是“余额”, bank account 是“银行账户”。
以前我们还会说 I don't have much money on me today. 我今天身上没带太多钱。
可现在却是使用“电子支付” E-payment，没什么机会用到“现金” cash ，我们在手机上随时随地 take a quick look at the balance“查一下余额”。
“剩下5000元。” The balance is five thousand yuan.
“存款”是 deposit，“提款”是 withdraw。

2. Oh,(no!) I'm in the red this month again. 啊，这个月我又透支了。
be in the red 是“透支”“赤字”。也可以说 be in the hole，比如 I'm two thousand yuan in the hole this month. 我这个月透支了2000元。
每月支付房屋贷款 pay my house loan every month。
要想不透支，我要怎么做呢？How can I manage?

3. How can I survive until next payday. 到下次发薪日之前我怎么活下去呢？
第三章第12课学过 payday 是“发薪日”。survive 是“生存”“活（下来）”。
“（到发薪日）还有4天” Four more days to go.
“靠微薄的薪水生活” Live on a small salary.
“消减吃饭（娱乐）费用” cut down on food (entertainment) expense。
要想“收支平衡” make ends meet 可真不是件容易的事啊！
