第10课

1. The delicious smell of chicken soup is filling the room. 屋里充满鸡汤的香味。

Fill是“充满……”。如果说“闻到……的气味”则用 smell of...，可以说：This room smells of chicken soup. 这房间里闻到鸡汤的味道。

Smell 不仅指香味，也用来指“臭味”，比如：His shoes smells awful. 他的鞋子臭得不得了。

2. My stomach is growling. 我的肚子在咕咕作响。

Growl 本来是指狗等动物的低吼、打雷声轰隆隆，这里是用来形容饥肠辘辘的意思。

Stomach 是胃、肚子。

而“我的心脏在跳动”是 My heart is pounding.

3. The rice is ready. 米饭已经做好了。

“已经做好了 / 已经准备好了”一般用 ready 来表示，比如说：I'm ready to go out. 我已经准备好了要出去。

“饭煮好了”是 The rice is cooked. 这里不可以用现在完成时，不要说成 The rice has been cooked. 

“正在煮饭”是 The rice is cooking.
