A group in the Greater Moncton area is hosting a rock camp for girls. Co-founder Dylan Hackett Dylan Hackett said the camp is planned for August 13 to 17. It hopes to empower girls 12 to 18 years old, including transgender and gender non-conforming people.

New Brunswick is launching its own satellite into space. It's the size of a loaf of bread and called a cube satellite. The University of New Brunswick, Universite de Moncton and the New Brunswick Community College are collaborating on the project. UNB professor Brent Petersen said the cube satellite will provide new insights on the Earth's ionosphere - which is part of the upper atmosphere - take photographs, and collect meteorological data.

Shift's associate producer Viola Pruss has a family connection to the Hindenburg disaster. Her great grandfather Max was the captain of the airship when it crashed in Lakehurst, New Jersey on May 6, 1937.
