A compliance division within DOE is basically crippled due to recent firings, so it's possible that schools will fall out of compliance and eventually lose the ability to participate in federal financial aid programs. A lot of students will not be able to attend school without financial aid, and schools don't have enough money to stay open without the inflow of federal financial aid.
