Hello everyone! Summer is here! In today's episode, I compare China's summer vacation with America's summer vacation: When and how long is the summer vacation in China and the US? What do students do during summer? Many Chinese students used to go to tutoring classes over the summer, but is this changing? How about students in the US?  Scripts and vocabulary below.

大家好，好久不见！上个星期是学生的最后一周。这周老师们收拾、整理一下，也要开启暑假模式了。忙了一学期，老师和学生终于可以好好休息一下了！

1. 收拾 | Shōushí | tidy up, clean
2. 整理 | zhěnglǐ | tidy up, organize

我们学校放假算是比较早的。我知道北边很多的学校要到六月中下旬才结束这个学期，开始放假。不过，虽然北方学校的放假时间比南方晚一点儿，但是还是比中国的学校早很多。我去查了一下北京2021到2022学年的校历。北京的学校第二学期是2022年2月21日开学，7月14日结束，一共20周零4天。北京学校的暑假是从2022年7月15日到8月31日，一共6周零6天。对比下我们学校，我们第二学期是2022年1月4日开学，5月26日是最后一天。然后就开始放暑假了。2022年8月17号正式开始上课，所以暑假一共是11周零6天——比北京学校的暑假长了5周。

2. 中下旬 | zhòng xiàxún | mid to late (旬 a full period of something)
3. 结束 | jiéshù | Finish, conclude
4. 放假 | fàngjià | Have time off, have a vacation
5. 查 | chá | check
6. 校历 | xiào lì | School calendar
7. 开学 | kāixué | school starts
8. 暑假 | shǔjià | summer vacation
9. 对比 | duìbǐ | Compare with, by comparison

不过，不管是中国还是美国，暑假都是学生们一年里最长的假期。那大家都会做什么呢？中国学生很多会在家长的安排下参加各种暑期辅导班、补习班。复习巩固这一年学习的知识，为新学期提前做准备。不过，这两年中国打压寒暑假的校外培训。暑假参加课外辅导的学生可能少了很多吧。除了参加学习班，也有很多学生会参加各种兴趣班。比如钢琴，足球。当然，夏天还有很多其他的活动可以做，比如去旅游，去参加夏令营什么的。

2. 不管...还是... | bùguǎn háishì | Whether... or...
3. 假期 | jiàqī | Holiday, vacation time
4. 暑期 | shǔqí | summertime
5. 辅导班 | fǔdǎo bān | tutoring class
6. 补习班 | bǔxí bān | cram school (lit. catch-up studying class)
7. 复习 | fùxí | review
8. 巩固 | gǒnggù | consolidate
9. 打压 | dǎyā | suppress
10. 校外培训 | xiàowài péixùn | off-campus tutoring
11. 兴趣班 | xìngqù bān | Interest class, hobby class
12. 其他 | qítā | other
13. 夏令营 | xiàlìngyíng | summer camp

说到夏令营。美国孩子的暑假离不开夏令营。美国有各种各样的夏令营：如果你喜欢篮球运动，你可以参加篮球夏令营。如果你喜欢画画儿，你可以参加艺术夏令营。如果你喜欢机器人，你可以参加机器人夏令营。如果你想学中文，你还可以参加中文沉浸式夏令营。总之，什么夏令营都有。每个夏令营的时间有长有短，价格有高有低。要求也不一样。但是只要提前计划，一般都能报到想去的夏令营。大一点的学生还可以去夏令营工作。美国很多高中生暑假都会打工。也有很多人会旅游。现在疫情基本过去了。利用暑假的时间出去走走、看看也挺不错的。
