In the industry these new products are commonly referred to as "PL" or "private label" products.

The sad truth is, the vast majority of "gurus" and "Amazon experts" spend a lot of time and monty convincing people to launch their own PL brands and products on Amazon while knowing full well that 5% at best of their students will ever see a penny of profit and the vast majority will lose tens of thousands and fill their garages with unmovable inventory - while blaming themselves for doing it wrong.

On Amazon are you more of a "I can't find ANYTHING seller" or "There's more great inventory than I have time or money to buy"?

Today's guest Cassidy Shoaf

A coaching client this week was grinding four hours a night, sitting on six ASINs he'd already vetted, and still couldn't pull the trigger. His words: "There's gotta be something I'm missing here." He wasn't missing a tool. He was missing permission to act.

In this episode, Brian and Robin Joy take you inside an actual coaching call where Robin turned three "pass on it" ASINs into two she'd test in real time. The fix wasn't a new filter or a secret tactic. It was learning to read the right number instead of the one every calculator shoves to the front page.

Why the current buy box, the price you can buy it at right now, never once entered Robin's decision. Why a $1.79 product that nets 50 cents isn't too small, it's 28% ROI and the cheapest belief-builder you'll ever buy. Why you should start your price at the highest evidence you have and let the test, not the other sellers, tell you what it's worth. And what Robin hunts for on every red ASIN that most people close the tab on.

The client said it himself: "I have to get out of my own head." Teddy Roosevelt said it better. In any moment of decision, the worst thing you can do is nothing.

You didn't fail to find five ASINs. You just kept disqualifying products for failing a test you never ran. Let's go test more ASINs.

You boxed up your FBA shipment, sent it in, and now your inventory is just sitting there. A sale, then nothing for three days, then maybe another a few days later. Your gut says drop the price. Your gut is wrong.

In this episode, Brian and Robin Joy close out the three-part Seller's Secret Edge series by unpacking the two advantages most resellers never learn to see. First, the Panic Window: the stretch between when your inventory goes active and when it's actually deliverable, where sellers tank their own prices on units that haven't even arrived, then wait two-plus weeks to get paid the same as everyone who held firm. Then the Sweet Spot, backed by Brian's analysis of 7,500 sourced ASINs.

Why a product with a two-week delivery date was never going to sell, no matter the price. Why the stadium hot dog costs eight bucks and nobody walks out to the grocery store. Why historical price movement clusters at the low end of the velocity curve, and what regional buy box spread is really telling you. And the number that reframes everything: roughly 19% of sub-velocity ASINs source profitable right out of the gate, versus 7% above a thousand units a month, the exact band most sellers are taught to chase.

It's not about chasing the fastest mover. It's about stacking the deck so you don't get stuck holding inventory that won't turn.

"The big money is not in the buying and the selling, but in the waiting." Charlie Munger was talking about stocks. He could've been describing the Panic Window.
