Caves can attract us with an air of mystery. We aren’t sure what’s inside and the adventure of the unknown makes some of us want to forge into the darkness and find out exactly where it leads. Caves are home to countless different animals as well as lost artifacts from eras long gone. They can be a fun place to explore to find something interesting. Sometimes though, they lead us to an even darker discovery.

  • Meltdown : Idaho Falls, ID
    01 : Pacific Northwest
Episode 07 : Atomic Age : Idaho Falls, ID

I got my first job when I was 13-years-old, slinging hotdogs at the county fair. I’ve worked in food service, retail, construction, and have even done a little mechanic work. People go to work to make money to support themselves and their families. They may love their job or they may not, but it needs to be done either way. We go to work every day, confident in our ability to carry out our job and make it home to our families. Sometimes though, we clock in for work and never clock out.

  • Aurora Bridge : Seattle, WA
    Season 01 : Pacific Northwest
Episode 06 : Aurora Bridge : Seattle, WA

We cross bridges all the time. Especially if you live in an area with a lot of waterways, you’re likely to cross at least one bridge every day, either by foot or in a car. These bridges easily connect us to other places that we were once cut off from. Having to drive a long distance or take a ferry in order to reach our destination. Now, we head out over a bridge without a second thought, imagining nothing out of the ordinary. Sometimes though, we end up on a bridge to nowhere.

  • Street Kid Family : Portland, OR
    Season 01 : Pacific Northwest
Episode 05 : Street Kid Family : Portland, OR

The streets are like the arteries of a city. They’re how people get from one place to another. From home to work or school or just a night out on the town, the streets give us a clear path to make it to our destination and then back home. Whether you’re driving or just taking a stroll down the sidewalk, your local streets are usually a familiar place that we use every day without a second thought. But for some, the streets end up being dead ends.

  • Ligertown : Lava Hot Springs, ID
    Season 01 : Pacific Northwest
Episode 04 : Ligertown : Lava Hot Springs, ID

Your home is where you should feel the safest. It’s your sanctuary. Buying a home is usually the largest purchase anyone will make in their life. Over time, it collects trophies and mementos, being decorated and renovated until it is almost an extension of ourselves.

When we’re unsure of the security of our environment, we tend to go home where we believe we’re safe, sometimes though, trouble comes knocking.

  • Brides of Christ : Corvallis, OR
    Season 01 : Pacific Northwest
Episode 02 : Brides of Christ, Corvallis, Oregon

There are an estimated 380,000 churches in the United States alone. They are common gathering spots for people to share their faith. If you’re in trouble and need a safe haven, oftentimes a church would be considered a good option.

Even people who aren’t regular church-goers may enter a church for an event such as a wedding or a funeral, always expecting to leave at the end of the service. Sometimes though, the church itself doesn’t want to let us go...

  • Tunnel13 : Ashland, OR
    Season 01 : Pacific Northwest
    Episode 01 : Tunnel 13, Ashland, OR

There are tunnels all over the world which are used for various reasons. Cars travel through tunnels to help them get to their destination more efficiently. People dig tunnels to mine for gems or precious metals. There are tunnels under ground to route utilities throughout the city.

We pass through these tunnels as they appear without giving it a second thought. We assume as we enter one end that we will soon come out the other side, safe and sound. Sometimes though, we don’t make it out alive..
