Sinister

Season 05 : Islands
Episode 06 : The Doctor's Secret : Puerto Rico

Medical research has been a great benefit to the world’s population. Discovering new treatments and medications in order to fight the growing list of medical ailments that affect the human body has created a safer and more healthy world. The patients participating as research subjects usually benefit from use of a new drug before it’s placed on the market and those opportunities have given many a second chance at a healthy life. Sometimes though, the doctor does more harm than good.

Season 05 : Islands
Episode 05 : Cannibal Island : Nazino Island

Many people choose to relocate. Sometimes a good job offer means you need to move to a different area. Other times, family needs can only be met in a different location or you might just want a change in scenery. There are a variety of reasons to relocate and most of the time the move is based on your own choices. Sometimes though, the relocation is forced.

Season 05 : Islands
Episode 04 : The Curse : Giaola Island

Owning your own island can be a dream for many people. A private paradise where you can relax and escape the rest of the world. An exclusive oasis that only you can access. Though generally not cheap, owning an island is possible and there are many privately owned islands all over the world. Most of them provide a private sanctuary for the rich and famous to unwind without the hassle of prying eyes. Sometimes though, the island just wants to be left alone.

Season 05 : Islands
Episode 03 : Operation Watchtower : Guadalcanal

World War I or The Great War, was called the war to end all wars because it was thought that no country would ever want to create a conflict of that magnitude ever again. Then World War II happened and it was clear that humanity was capable of extreme destructive forces, ending with atomic bombs. The war was fought with major campaigns across multiple continents and in the ocean in order to try and stop the expansion of the axis forces. Sometimes though, the smallest advance can make the biggest difference.

Season 05 : Islands
Episode 02 : The Egg War : The Farallon Islands

Eggs are a pretty standard part of most people’s diet. They’re rich in protein and a fairly renewable food source. On top of that, in my own opinion, they’re delicious. In the 19th century, large groups of workers would rely on eggs to provide them with the protein they needed to complete their laborious jobs at an affordable price. When the demand for eggs got too high, some people thought they had found an unlimited supply. Sometimes though, the cost is more than just the almighty dollar.

Season 05 : Islands
Episode 01 : The Wager Mutiny : Wager Island

Sailing across the ocean is dangerous today. Nearly 300 years ago, people were doing it with much less reliable information than we have now. They had maps that were flat out wrong and equipment that didn’t really work if the weather was bad. They had to rely on the hope that nature would cooperate with their desire to make it to the other side of the world. Many men had the experience and drive to make the journey successfully. Sometimes though, that prize would remain out of reach.

Season 04 : British Isles
Minisode : Lewisham Rail Crash : London, England

Public transportation is an important part of our urban structure. Moving a large number of people at one time is always going to be much more efficient than every person taking an individual path. On top of that, riding the rails can help you cover more ground faster as you don’t normally have to deal with traffic. Sure trains can get delayed, but for the most part, you can get from point A to point B in a more direct route. The great thing about a train over a car is that you don’t have to drive, so you can focus your attention elsewhere. Sometimes though, the train driver’s attention is also focused somewhere else.

Season 04 : British Isles
Episode 14 : Lockerbie : Lockerbie, Scotland

People generally spend the majority of their time, just minding their own business. Getting up in the morning and spending their day carrying out a regular routine. That usually involves going to work or school or just performing mundane tasks around the house. Outside of their usual activities, when life takes them on other journeys, people generally keep their heads down and just move along with life. Sometimes though, death makes you its business.

Season 04 : British Isles
Minisode : Omagh Bombing : Omagh, Northern Ireland

Traveling is something that’s loved by many people. To go out, experience the world, see new sights, and experience different cultures is an exciting time. Even if it’s just a short trip to a new town, many people have a wanderlust that keeps them moving. People also like to document those travels by taking pictures and videos. A quick pause to snap a picture can be a great way to save the memory for the future. Sometimes though, it’s a record of the calm before the storm.

Season 04 : British Isles
Episode 13 : Free Ireland! : Ireland

Colonization has had a major effect on the world, both positive and negative. Of course the people being colonized are often going to have a more negative view of the people coming in and declaring the land theirs. Societies want to have a say in what’s happening in the place they call home, but usually, even if they don’t like it, the locals don’t have the power to do much about it. Sometimes though, they muster the strength to fight for what’s theirs.
