Today - You have to take victories where you can find them during a pandemic. And when it comes to local tourism - here in Richland County it was not as bad as it was elsewhere in Ohio and around the nation. Lee Tasseff, president of Destination Mansfield-Richland County, explained that the negative impact of COVID-19 was felt throughout the tourism industry last year, including locally.

Today - On Thursday. The Richland County Land Bank is expected to accept the donation of the 13-acre "concrete jungle" that was part of the former Westinghouse property on the city's east side.

Today - How can we improve public transportation in Mansfield and throughout Richland County? The question was a common theme this fall during the six "Talk the Vote'' sessions that we hosted leading up to the Nov. 2 election. A lot of readers and listeners asked about the topic, similar to 2019. Because the need for public transit is not surprising. Many of us depend on buses to get to work, medical appointments, social service meetings, shopping and much more.

Today - For the last five years, Barrister Title employees have sponsored a handful of Mansfield City School children, getting gifts for some of the district’s neediest families. Today - A yellow lab in Huron County is no ordinary pooch. She's a K9 with the Police Department, and her unique skill set could help detain some of the most heinous criminals in north central Ohio.

Today - Fredericktown’s school board approved the appointment of former Fredericktown superintendent James Peterson to serve as interim superintendent starting in January. Peterson will resume the position the day after current superintendent Susan Hayward’s resignation takes effect. And Peterson will serve as interim superintendent until July 31, or earlier depending on how the search for a permanent replacement goes.
