"Anybody who sees trauma in life or has experienced it... those things stay with you. And I think that they make us the present version of who we are on whatever journey we're on."
One year ago in Los Angeles, Jacob Soboroff watched his childhood home turn to ash amongst the thousands of others in one of the most destructive wildfires in history. But, before he was on the front lines covering the devastation of the Palisades and Eaton fires that killed 31 people and destroyed more than 13,000 homes and properties, he was a young student with absolutely no interest in journalism. Jacob talks to Dan about his journey, from theater student to political staffer to journalist. He shares his experiences finding connection, humanity, and hope in the most hopeless of times - in the aftermath of natural disasters, the horror of watching family separation during the first Trump administration... and his concerns about the administration's current anti-immigration efforts seen in ICE raids terrorizing communities across the country. Jacob's book, "Firestorm: The Great Los Angeles Fires and America’s New Age of Disaster", is available now.

Comedy is lucky to have Larry Wilmore...
From his beloved Los Angeles, the Emmy Award—winning producer, writer, actor, and comedian explains to Dan how it all began with him writing for the iconic "In Living Color", taking the "high road" after getting fired as executive producer from "The Bernie Mac Show", and how "The Daily Show" led to the dream of hosting the White House Correspondents' Dinner for President Barack Obama (not to mention his own groundbreaking late-night show, "The Nightly Show"). For 20 years, Chuck Todd has been a ubiquitous face of politics in the United States, most visibly as the host of Meet the Press through the Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations. Now, as traditional media struggles to keep up with the digital age, he's left it behind.
On South Beach Sessions, Chuck unwraps the influence of his father on his career - that's where his love of politics (and sports) came from - and explains why, growing up, he never thought he'd be a journalist. He and Dan also discuss the frailty of our current media ecosystem, reminisce a bit about the (better) old days, and what's next. Listen, watch, and subscribe to "The Chuck Toddcast".

It's hard not to love Max Greenfield. Max talks to Dan Le Batard about going from being a struggling student in school to more than a decade of "slumming around the gutters of Hollywood" trying to make it as an actor... and nearly calling it quits after becoming a father before his big break on the beloved show, "New Girl". The star of "The Neighborhood" also shares how fatherhood changed his approach to life and acting, the importance of appreciating the little things, why he was so terrified to work with Ted Danson and Mike Schur, and how the pandemic led him to becoming a children's author. Season 2 of "A Man on the Inside" premieres November 20th, only on Netflix.

Late night shows may come and go, but for Roy Wood Jr. the hustle-and-grind never stops.
