Kaitlin doesn’t understand what Scott’s taste in women’s clothing is. What even are yoga pants anymore? Senior photos in Colorado are very different than in New Jersey. Scott spirals emotionally for the first time…about Pokemon cards. Kaitlin and Scott get calls about all three of their girls getting injured at school in one day. Jayce ends up breaking her wrist.

Emily jumps out of a moving vehicle because of a spider. In fact, all three of the Chicola girls have pretty irrational bug-phobia. Caroline is working through some exposure therapy and is also on multiple cooking escapades. Kaitlin has been lying to Scott. Ground turkey is gross. And Emily's hair spontaneously combusts.

Kaitlin teaches Scott a new term: code switching. They discuss the complications of parenting: do timeouts even work, adjusting to disciplining older kids, should kids be paid for chores? To no one's suprise, Scott mispronounces the word "vehicle."

Youngest Chicola sister, Caroline, graces the pod with her presence. Caroline and Kaitlin can’t help but talk about Emily in her absence...mostly because she has absolutely no clue what Famous Footwear is and she's planning to copy Kaitlin’s outfit for their family photos. Of course, food and favorite snacks make their way into the conversation. Kaitlin buys leopard pants. Scott somehow doesn’t feel good every single night. And, ya know…men when they’re sick.

HAPPY LABOR DAY! The crew is finally back. Kaitlin has a miraculous experience with a FedEx delivery. Emily decides she’s lactose intolerant. Scot doesn;t understand what cannolis are. Emily and Matt got to a concert and Matt meets a lifetime hero. Binkies? Pacifiers? Passies? Bee-tas? Matt has a run-in with a squirrel.

The kids are heading back to school, and the Elliott house is experiencing all the emotions. Kaitlin finds herself increasingly open to homeschooling…except the girls actually like school, and there are mixed feelings about all schooling situations. It's complicated.
