• The Johannesburg High Court ruled that renowned law firm Edward Nathan Sonnenberg Inc. (ENS) was culpable for the woman's fall victimization to a common cybercrime known as "business email compromise" (BEC), and that the firm was ordered to pay the woman R5.5 million plus interest in addition to her legal fees. However, the Supreme Court of Appeal reached a different decision this week, sustaining ENS's appeal against the six-month-old ruling.
