Following Brett Finch pleading guilty to sharing child abuse material yesterday, Spida Everitt shared his experience of Finch on Triple M Breakfast with Flan, Ali & Spida. 

Spida reflects on a time he did a function with Brett Finch a couple of years ago. “I’ve never seen a player off his chops so much. I’ve never seen a player so disrespectful to a room when he was talking, how he was talking, what he was talking about. Even then I’m thinking gee you are in a bit of strife here”.

Spida says NRL could see this situation unfolding right in front of their faces and nobody really stood up and helped. There were high profile NRL players around and they would say “that’s just Finchy”.

Fast forward to a couple of years later and Brett pleads guilty to sharing child abuse material. In December last year he was arrested and charged with using a carriage service to transmit publish or promote abusive material. Yesterday the 40-year-old pleaded guilty. He will be sentenced in September.
