Cheteshwar Pujara and Umesh Yadav have been dropped from India's squad for the Test series in the West Indies. Mohammed Shami has been rested. And the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mukesh Kumar have been included in the 16-member squad for the two-Test series. Does this mean that the national selection committee has set the succession plan in place? Besides the Test squad, does the ODI squad give a clear indication about India's core of 20 players for the 2023 World Cup? Aditya Joshi gives an insight into the squad selection.

Despite making it to the World Test Championship twice in as many editions, India haven't been able to lift the mace.
