My guest today is my friend, Oliver Gale. Oliver is a serial entrepreneur and Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) pioneer with 9 years experience building blockchain projects, involved in policy making discussions and thought leadership at the United Nations, ITU, MIT, Columbia University, the IMF, and numerous central banks and governments. At the time of the interview, Oliver was the Director of Bitt, a global financial technology (FinTech) company that provides digital currency solutions to central banks, financial institutions and financial ecosystem participants worldwide. Oliver is currently Founder and CEO of Panther Protocol. Our conversation centers around the importance of financial inclusion. We cover how American foreign policy has weaponized their dollar hegemony. We discuss why there is a need for sovereign money and how the financial system is interconnected. Oliver goes on to discuss his experience working with and building tools for financial institutions like central banks. We also touch on the government policies in the Caribbean, Oliver's experience building a pilot project for the Caribbean central bank, and the insidiousness of payday lending.
