Bold Beautiful Borderline

Surviving the Broken System pt. 2

Listen Later

Trigger warning: police, suicidality, inappropriate inpatient treatment

This episode is a continuation of the story from the previous episode where we explored one person with BPD’s experience from police intervention, hospitalization, and inappropriate “treatment” in care. Learnings from Linda’s story is that hospitalization is the great equalizer and that power dynamics are more powerful than sometimes we give them credit for. Linda shares her techniques for surviving the horrors she experienced in the system by humanizing the people around her and finding connection wherever she could.

This episode ends with a beautiful piece of art writing by Linda - a summary of her journey from police response, to inpatient care, to a BPD diagnosis, to a breakup  - her Super Powers will conquer all.

This story will be triggering for many - please listen with caution and be sure to use your skills and reach out for support if you need it.
