The word "scale" gets used so much that I think it's wise to take a step back and think through what it looks like in REAL life terms for most businesses who aren't the "wild success stories." 

Don't ask HOW to scale, but WHEN to scale.

Because sometimes, it's best to do the brutal, boring work that's required to set a stronger foundation for those moments when you DO want to push the pedal to to the floor and go as fast as your supply can handle.
