In this episode, I highlight 5 nutrition myths and 5 training myths (along with a bonus myth) that still circulate the internet to this day. Social media is great, but it's full of conflicting information that can create confusion among non-fitness and health experts. This often leads to hesitancy to start a fitness or nutrition program because it's so hard to decipher what's right and what's BS.
This episode will hopefully give you some insight on why some of the most common myths are indeed false.
Nutrition myths include:
1. Carbs will lead to fat gain
2. Fruit is bad for you
3. You need frequent meals to speed up your metabolism
4. Eating too little can lead to weight gain
5. Hormones, and not calories in, calories out, lead to weight gain
Training Myths Include:
1. Switch things up often for muscle confusion
2. Cardio is the best fat burning tool
3. If you want to gain muscle, don't do cardio/conditioning
4. Soreness, fatigue and how much you sweat will indicate an effective workout
Bonus Myth (not necessarily nutrition or training specific):
