What they didn't know is that they were hiking straight into the belly of the beast – an active volcano that had just been elevated in eruption risk. But no one told the tourists of the extra risk that they'd be taking that day, and only 25 of them would survive to tell the horrific tale.

This episode is dedicated to Ashley's housemate Dylan Ochoa, who passed away from suicide on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, and to anyone else who has lost a loved one to suicide.

We'd like to make it clear that while Dylan may have taken that final physical action, it was mental illness and depression that killed him. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States and 75% of those deaths are male.

If you are suffering or feeling alone or like no one cares, speak up. Don't struggle alone. It's ok to be vulnerable, it's ok to hurt.

Ash and Cam talk about wealthy recluses the Edie Bouvier Beales of Grey Gardens and extreme hoarders the Collyer brothers! Jeepers Creepers!⁠

Ash covers Big and Little Edith Bouvier Beale, the stars of one of the most famous documentaries of all time Grey Gardens. The mother and daughter duo, aunt and cousin of Jackie Kennedy, lived together shamelessly in absolute squalor for 25 years. Both never finding true and lasting love, or realizing their dreams of making it in show business, they spent over two decades together in abject poverty, in a decaying mansion that they refused to leave, putting on concerts and dance performances for one another while bickering endlessly and lamenting about what could have been. Despite never making it on the big stage, these women were absolute stars.

And Cam covers the first known hoarders, the Collyer brothers. In the spring of 1947, both were found dead in their New York City mansion surrounded by over 140 tons of trash and collected items that they had amassed over three decades. After one brother, Homer, lost his eye sight, he and his other brother Langley became totally reclusive. Langley was convinced that burglars were a constant threat and set booby traps throughout the cluttered corridors and doorways to crush any potential intruders. It would unfortunately be Langley who'd be crushed to death after one of them was accidentally set off.

Arne Johnson claimed that he was possessed by the devil when he stabbed his friend and landlord Alan Bono to death on February 16, 1981 in the sleepy town of Brookfield, CT. Prior to that, the affable 19 year old had been present at several exorcisms performed on his fiancé's little brother, David Glatzl. At the last exorcism performed on David, Arne challenged the demon that was terrorizing David to come into him and take him instead. The night ended in peace, with David and Arne seemingly free from the demon's grasp, but famous Catholic paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren told Arne what a terrible idea this had been and warned him, and the Brookfield police, that there would certainly be more trouble ahead...

Ash and Cam talk about the Delphi Murders! Jeepers Creepers!⁠

Cam covers the murders of eight graders Abigail Williams and Liberty German in Delphi, Indiana on February 13, 2017. The girls had the day off from school and decided to go walk on High Bridge, an abandoned railroad bridge 70ft above the water. At the opposite side of High Bridge is thick overgrown bush, leaving nowhere to go but back once you reach the end. Liberty starting filming a man now known as "Bridge Guy" when she noticed him approaching, obviously suspicious of him. There is audio and video footage of the man telling the girls to go "down the hill", and Bridge Guy has not been identified to this day.

Ash and Cam talk about Ugandan cult the Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God! Jeepers Creepers!⁠

Move over Jonestown! More members of the Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God died than that of Heaven’s Gate, Waco, Jonestown, or any other cult in modern history. The Movement began as a Virgin Mary worshipping Christian cult that originated in southwest Uganda in the late 80s. But it ended when at least 924 members were murdered by the cult's leaders when they began to get restless after the apocalypse failed to come (again) on Dec 31, 1999.⁠

Ash and Cam talk about Colorado cult Love Has Won! Jeepers Creepers!⁠

Ok gang, you asked, so we delivered! This week Ash covers Love Has Won and the mysterious death of its leader Amy Carlson, aka "Mother God". Before her death, Mother God was a belligerent and abusive alcoholic who claimed to be paralyzed from the waist down (videos prove otherwise). She and her group, including Jason Castillo, one of many "Father God"s over the years, had been doing daily livestreams on YouTube since the mid 2000s, gaining followers by selling magical phone healing sessions, "god squad" apparel, etc... the usual. But it appears that Love Has Lost, as Carlson's mummified corpse was found wrapped in a sleeping bag and Christmas lights, with glitter surrounding her hollow eye sockets, in a makeshift shrine less than three week ago.
