In part two of reflections, we each explore a particular time period from our past and remind ourselves what we accomplished, what we learned, and how it led us to where we are today. Last week's episode was at the micro level of understanding how we can reflect on our day to day activities and make adjustments. This week we zoom out to the macro level to build a greater appreciation of where we came from.

Is optimism the ideal we should all be aiming for or is there a better approach?
In today's world, we often hear "be optimistic" or, in other words, "things will get better". We contend that things will get better...only if you take intentional action to make it so. There is a sense of hope or wishing associated with optimism that can rob us of the full learnings of an experience or even take away our agency to make the necessary improvements. It requires reflection and honesty to accept the current reality of a situation and then taking the appropriate action to move forward.

In this episode we answer the cold open question of "what did you learn this weekend?"
Then, we focus on negations - what they are, how they present themselves in our lives, and how they are negatively impacting our relationships. Expect to learn why saying "I'm sorry but" diminishes the other individual's experience and is a subconscious way of you one-upping, how our thoughts become our words and our words become our actions and that by giving power to words, we further reinforce thought patterns.

In this week's episode, Tyler finishes guiding Keslie through an exercise titled "Frustrations, Fears, Wants, and Aspirations". Building upon last week's episode, we transform Keslie's current frustrations into wants and explore how those manifest into aspirations.
We then pull out themes from Keslie's aspirations to create her sphere of influence and, similarly, pull out themes from her frustrations to illustrate how those are preventing her from achieving her aspirations.
This is an invaluable exercise for anyone at a point in their life where they don't know what they want or where to go next.
