We are thrilled to talk about detoxifying your home environment today.
This is such an important topic that is often overlooked on one's journey towards health and wellness.
Some suggestions that we make during this episode include:
1) Check ingredients - if there is a warning/caution/danger label it is probably not very safe in your home.
2) Remove the toxins - Gather up the toxic products in your home and if you are not ready to remove them entirely, put them into a box in your garage so they are out of your living space.
3) Take note of how you feel. Do you notice any changes after removing the toxins?
4) Check out Madesafe for a list of toxic ingredients
5) Areas of your home to dig deeper include: cleaning products, laundry and dish soaps, drinking water, dry cleaning, mattress, air quality.
5) This episode does not cover beauty and skincare as we have two entire episodes dedicated to this topic. Check out Ep. 21 and ep. 85.

We are thrilled to introduce today's guest, Allie Egan.
Allie is the Founder and CEO of Veracity Selfcare, a next-generation beauty and wellness brand empowering women to understand the connection between their skin and their broader health through at-home testing and a holistic, data-driven approach to skincare. Their products are at the forefront of clean performance, excluding all endocrine disruptors and safe for all life moments, including pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Prior to founding Veracity, Allie was the CEO of the women's fashion brand, Cynthia Rowley where she led the transformation to direct-to-consumer and more than doubled the business in two years. She has extensive experience in the beauty industry through her time at some of Estee Lauder's best brands, including Origins, Clinique, and La Mer. She also has broad consumer experience through her time as an investor at L Catterton. She holds a BS in Finance and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and an MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School.
Allie was inspired to create Veracity after years of seeking answers about her own skin. Frustrated from trying to heal persistent dry patches on her face, her "aha moment" came when she was tested for fertility issues. After suffering for three years she learned that she had an underactive thyroid– which was the direct cause of her skin issues.
That is why she founded Veracity: to give people the tools she didn't have, and the knowledge she believes all women should have. A solution that uncovers root causes of issues big and small, offers proactive steps forward, and puts one on a path to better skin and better health.
This conversation is insightful and empowering as Allie inspires you to take control of your own health. We unpack so much in this episode including how her new innovative company, Veracity, will help you get to the root of your skin issue through a simple at home lab test.
Allie is an incredible wealth of knowledge when it comes to understanding how our hormones play a direct role in our skin and overall health. She talks about hormone disruptors that are in many prescription and over the counter beauty and personal care products and how they can impact our skin as well as our overall health.
We are excited that Veracity's new Scientifically clean and endocrine disruptor-free skin care line is officially launched. All of their products are designed to treat hormonal imbalances and are created to work with your unique biochemistry. Allie believes that healthy skin is balanced, nourished, and radiant from the inside out.

Today's amazing guest is Doctor Jess Bell, a Licensed and Board Certified Osteopathic Physician, Pain Specialist, and Provider of Energetic Osteopathy™. Dr Jess became an osteopathic physician in her early twenties and a pain management specialist in her early thirties. As she worked with pain, she identified that her patients needed more than what the medical world alone could offer.
Over time, she became aware of a much greater source of healing than she had learned about through her training and education. Dr Jess grew to learn that traditional medicine, including osteopathy, does not incorporate a process of self-healing, self-actualization and self-illumination and she knew this was a missing piece to fully embody healing.
Early into the Covid-19 pandemic, she stepped fully into her true soul purpose when she received guidance to work entirely in a distance setting. At first, she was hesitant and did not believe that she could offer osteopathic treatment and healing in a distance setting; however, she soon experienced how the treatments became even more effective and transformative.
Unlike the traditional osteopathic practitioner, Dr Jess illuminates, transforms, and transmutes the energetic root cause of all distortions or dis-eases that are presenting themselves in the body, by rooting all the way down to its divine source.
She truly offers her patients a collaborative healing experience, and what we love about her approach, is that she empowers you to take an active role in your healing process. Dr. Jess guides you to tap into what you know is the root cause of your health issue by finding energetic densities that are contained within our tissues, organs, and bones of the physical body.
In this episode, you will get to experience a short guided healing session with Dr. Jess, so make sure you listen to this entire enlightening conversation.
We also want to mention that since the recording of this episode, Dr Jess' practice has continued to evolve given the growing demand of her services and she is no longer seeing patients in a 1:1 setting. She has several group and community programs, including regular virtual group sessions, which you can participate in to further your self-discovery and self-healing journey.
Dr. Jess believes that health is our birthright; we couldn't agree more.
Special offer for our listeners:
Use code 'LIVINGWELL' to receive a $35 credit towards her upcoming One-Day Healing Intensive With Energetic Osteopathy group treatment and training on Saturday, October 16th.

We are so excited to welcome today's guest, Lisa Whalen.
Lisa Whalen has a Ph.D. in postsecondary and adult education from Capella University and an M.A. in creative and critical writing from Hamline University. She teaches composition, literature, and creative writing at North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
Her debut book, Stable Weight: A Memoir of Hunger, Horses, and Hope, has received advance praise from eating disorder specialists, literature professors, and horse trainers.
Her memoir, Taking the Reins, is in the process of submission for publication. For more information about it, refer to her Upcoming page.
In her spare time, she rides horses and volunteers at the Animal Humane Society.
On today's show, we hear how a lifetime of trying to be perfect lands Lisa in the psych ward at the age of 29. She shares how her eating-disorder treatment set her on a path towards health, but ultimately her progress stalls until she meets 10 special horses who teach her to face her fears, trust her intuition, live in the moment, and love her body.
We also dive into how contact with animals can be therapeutic outside of a formal animal therapy program. We hear about how animals can ground us in the present moment, provide unconditional acceptance and help us heal from life's challenges.
This episode is filled with so many fantastic tips and strategies for people that may struggle with perfectionism, body image or depression.

We are so excited to introduce today's guest, Carolina Reis Oliveira, who is the Co-founder and CEO of OneSkin.
Carolina holds a biochemistry degree and a Ph.D. in stem cell biology and is an alumnus of IndieBio, the world's leading biotechnology accelerator. In 2016 she relocated to Silicon Valley from Latin America to co-found One Skin, a biotech company developing solutions to target skin aging at the molecular level and extend the health of your skin and body. She is a co-inventor of 3 patents, co-author of numerous scientific publications, and has been an advocate of skin health in the longevity community. The Company's signature product OS-1 just launched in early 2021 and has already received amazing feedback from users.
In today's conversation Carolina shares how One Skin's unique formula of their signature OS-1 product helps to reduce inflammation and prevent aging. The founders created a peptide by carefully selecting the ingredients to address the root cause of aging and to activate our good genes (that will increase collagen production) and reduce those genes that increase inflammation.
Carolina shares how our skin affects our bodies health as we age and how what we put on our skin can help reduce inflammation and help prevent aging.
This episode is packed with powerful information and science backed studies, so if you like to dive deep and really understand the aging process and what you can do to reduce visible and internal signs of aging, then you won't want to miss this conversation.
We discuss how OS-1 contains a carefully selected list of ingredients that are not only effective in reducing aging but safe as well.
Finally, Carolina shares how lifestyle and overall habits influence the aging process and how you can reverse your biological age regardless of your chronological age.
Special Offer:
One Skin has a special offer for all of our listeners to try OS-1. Simply enter code SKINSPAN15 at checkout for 15% off your purchase.
