We are so excited to welcome today's guest, Indu Arora.
Indu Arora, an Ayurveda and Yoga Therapist, considers herself a student for lifetime. She has been sharing about Yoga philosophy, Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda since 1999. She is inspired by and taught under Kriya Yoga, Himalayan Yoga, Kashmir Shivaism and Sivananda Yoga lineages. She has studied both Yoga and Ayurveda in a traditional Guru paramapara setting.
Her teaching style is rooted in empowering and inspiring students to awaken the inner Guru. Her core philosophy is, 'Nothing has the greatest power to heal, but Self!"
On today's show, Indu shares her story and how she came to be an Ayurvedic teacher and healer. She also dives into the philosophy and core principles of Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine that originated in India more than 3,000 years ago, which is often referred to as the "sister science of yoga."
We discuss her new ebook, Soma, and the self-care rituals that she shares in the book. Indu talks about why self-care is not a privilege or a luxury but rather our individual responsibility and the right thing to do.
We also dive into the ideas of Dharma (taking care of your body, soul and the earth), unlearning, mudra and the power of everything being connected.
This episode is filled with so many fantastic tips and strategies for self-care and the process of going within.

We are so excited to welcome today's guest, Patricia Ladis.
Patricia Ladis, PT, CBBA, is a licensed physical therapist and behavioral breathing analyst who treats athletes, dancers, and pregnant women. She is the founder of WiseBody PT, and was the co-founder of KIMA Center for Physiotherapy & Wellness, one of New York City's most highly regarded PT and wellness centers. She is also the co-founder of The First 1000 Days of Wellness, a global educational platform for practitioners, spas, and consumers to promote perinatal wellness and prevent non-communicable diseases in future generations.
A former professional dancer, Patricia has been active in helping women before, during, and after pregnancy since 1999. She is the author of The Wise Woman's Guide to Your Healthiest Pregnancy & Birth. This book aims to empower women to listen to their WISE intuition during preconception, pregnancy and post-partum for ultimate health and happiness during these transformative years!
Patricia has been an on-site physical therapist for The Rockettes and various Broadway shows including The Producers, Lion King and Movin' Out. She was also a PT for American Ballet Theatre and prestigious ballet and modern dance companies. She works with various professional players (like Serena & Venus Williams and Mike Bryan) at various tournaments such as US Open, Wimbledon and Fed Cup. She was the U.S. Tennis Team's Physical Therapist at the Athens 2004 Olympics.
Patricia has appeared on NBC News as commentator on various orthopedic issues including shoulder injury and rehabilitation and back pain, been published in various articles (like FORBES & VOGUE) and books, and continues to be very active in the medical and the wellness communities.
Patricia is also the Chair of The First 1000 Days Initiative for the Global Wellness Institute and is a delegate with the Global Wellness Summit.
As a mother of three, Patricia understands the demands of everyday life and aims to help her patients achieve a balance in their body. She connects with her perinatal patients to help them have a painfree pregnancy and embrace this time in their life with confidence and happiness.
On today's show, Patricia shares her background as a professional dancer and how she has helped many dancers and athletes recover from common injuries. She talks about diaphragmatic breathing (the benefits during pregnancy and really for everyone).
Her book, The Wise Woman's Guide to Your Healthiest Pregnancy & Birth, is a fantastic guide that Marnie and I wish we had during our pregnancies because it's truly a holistic approach to having your healthiest pregnancy with a lot of practical tips covering food, nutrition, supplements, movement, breathing and so much more. This book is a must read for anyone who is pregnant (and a great gift for the pregnant women in your life). And this book isn't just for women; it's for men too as many of the suggestions will improve the lifestyle for the couple and ultimately the family.
One fun tip that Patricia shares is that 70% of the health of your child is dependent on the man's sperm and what you do during preconception can affect the next three generations.
This episode is a must listen for all, as Patricia provides so many practical tips and suggestions in this episode that will benefit everyone, not just those looking to become pregnant.

RE-RELEASE: This episode with Ben Leber first aired in March 2020 and we are re-running it today because it's a fantastic conversation filled with tips, strategies and inspiration on how to shift your mindset and overcoming your limiting beliefs.
Today's guest, Ben Leber, is a retired 10-year NFL linebacker who played for the San Diego Chargers (now LA), the Minnesota Vikings and the St. Louis Rams.
Ben's football journey began when he accepted a full-ride scholarship to Kansas State University in the summer of 1996. In his time at KSU, Ben was twice named to Big 12 All-Conference Teams, 3rd Team All-American team, and he ended up 5th in tackles in school history while graduating with a business degree. It's a reflection of the hard work he put in to balance and excel in both football and academics.
He went on to earn All-Rookie honors his first year in the NFL with San Diego as one of the starting outside linebackers. And while Ben found success on the field, it was how he carried himself off the field that stands out. He was a player representative all 5 years that he played for the Vikings and he was named the Korey Stringer Good Guy award by the local media. He went on to play his 10th and final year with the St. Louis Rams.
As Ben moved away from life as a professional football player, he knew he wanted to stay close to the game. He began working for Fox Sports as a college football color commentator. He has worked his way up the ladder and he is now a full-time analyst working Nationally Televised games for the Big 10, Big 12 and Pac 12 Conferences. He also maintains his life in Minneapolis and he began contributing and later working for KFAN radio. He appears on numerous radio shows throughout the week, mostly as a Minnesota Vikings/NFL insider. And this year he concluded his second full season as sideline analyst for the Vikings Radio Network.
Our conversation with Ben goes deep into the many lessons he learned while playing college and professional football. He dives into how he learned to take feedback to improve his game. Ben opens up about a period in his earlier career where he had significant self-doubt about his ability to play at the collegiate level. He shares the tools he learned and used to overcome these limiting beliefs. Ben also shares his "win from within" approach to success and how this mindset shift has helped him during his football career and during his transition to his current career as a broadcaster.
The tips and strategies that Ben shares in our conversation are applicable to everyone, whether you are an athlete of any age, a parent, an adult and everyone in between.

We are super excited to introduce today's guest, MaryEllen Reider, who is the co-founder and director of Yarlap®, the wellness device to treat urinary incontinence and improve sexual performance and experience through muscle control. MaryEllen and her dad have emerged as a leading voice in the pelvic floor and sex tech wellness space. She strives to empower women through their pelvic floor muscles because incontinence significantly impacts quality of life. It is widespread among women of all ages but It is a condition many find too personal to disclose.
MaryEllen shares how the physical discomfort and disruption may carry the additional emotional burden of shame and embarrassment that often occurs with leaks. That is where the Yarlap® come in to solve this common problem – it stops the cause of the leaks and is FDA Cleared to help you maintain urinal control! Plus, treating the cause is significantly cheaper than diapers and much more environmentally responsible.
Hey ladies out there? Did you know that it's not normal to pee when you laugh? We know many people where this is unfortunately a common occurrence and one that most just chalk up to childbirth.
We had so much fun learning about our very important pelvic floor muscles. In today's episode you'll learn about the amazing device that MaryEllen and her dad created, which does the exercises for you to tighten and control your pelvic floor muscles.
We also discuss what the pelvic floor is, why it is so important for overall health, and that with the appropriate tools and techniques it is possible to achieve better orgasms, tone and control.
What is often surprising to hear is that weakening starts in your 20's. By the time we are in our 30's, those muscles might be atrophied, causing self-taught pelvic floor exercises (like Kegels) to be impossible to do. Keeping those muscles toned and healthy are key to maintaining bladder control and intimacy wellness.
This episode is a must listen to learn more about how you can prevent weakening in the pelvic floor and help regain the muscle strength you may have lost to live your best life.
This is an unfiltered conversation so make sure that you don't have young children in the room, just pop in a pair of headphones :).
MaryEllen has a special offer for our listeners. Simply use the code AOLW at checkout for $35 off your purchase of a Yarlap device.

We are thrilled to welcome Christian Rasmussen, co-founder of MN Nice Botanicals.
Born and raised in the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities, Christian Rasmussen met his co-founder Tad in school. After completing a year of college for physics in 2010, Christian decided he wanted to pursue a different path, and dropped out to dive into the Real Estate Industry. By 2014 he had successfully completed his first three property flips and decided to expand into rental properties. By 2017 Christian had amassed five rental properties from the initial start-up capital he used to flip his first home, three of which were purchased with zero money down, using creative financing strategies and an intense focus and dedication (they don't call it 'hard' money for no reason!). Christian got married in 2018 and spent the rest of the year travelling. In 2019, Tad and Christian began MN Nice Botanicals to provide affordable, high quality CBD products for all.
Christian says, "We are just a couple of nice Minnesotans trying to show the world what MN Nice is all about. Simply put, we thought CBD was too expensive, so in 2019 we decided to do something about it. After a year of diligent research on CBD and its market, we discovered a large price difference between wholesale and retail prices. We felt that unreasonably high prices kept the consumer market from expanding and hindered many from being able to use CBD as a regular supplement. In an effort to make CBD products more affordable and available to more customers, we offer our products at the lowest prices we can afford."
What makes MN Nice Botanicals stand out from their competition? All of their CBD is vetted from hemp grown in the USA, all of their products are handcrafted in small batches with high quality ingredients in MN and their CBD is tested for heavy metals, pesticides, residual solvents and other impurities. Additionally, all their products are tested to ensure cannabinoid content as quality control is of the utmost priority to them.
MN Nice Botanicals also donates 5% of their profits to MN based charities.
We had so much fun talking with Christian and learning about CBD, what it is, how it works and why it gets a bad rap. He also shares a few stories on how CBD has helped people.

We are thrilled to welcome Sara Whicher and Marcy Townsend the co-founders of Chisel Architecture.
The team at Chisel provides architectural custom design and a custom process. In their award-winning work while with Midwest-based design firms, eight years together at two firms and seven years at four additional firms, they've acquired an incredible breadth of expertise. They have a track record of proven success as lead designers and project managers with honed technical skills in material specs, drafting, construction documentation; and intuitive personal skills in client and consultant management and communications.
Marcy and Sara are dedicated client advocates from start to finish. This means that their problem-solving skill sets are always engaged and they shape conversations around the intimacy of design. It means they fully understand the symbiotic relationships between the homeowner who will live in and love their space, the talented craftspeople who contribute exquisite detail, agile builders who modify with flexibility, and lead architects and designers who orchestrate the entire project to make it sing.
Chisel Architecture created a unique process they coined The Pattern of Life, which really sets their firm apart. This three step process brings out their clients preferences, routines and ways of being every day so that they can live well.
We had so much fun talking with Sara and Marcy and learning about the very personalized process, called Pattern of Life, that they go through with all of their clients. We learned that what sets Chisel Architecture apart is how they really listen to their clients, they watch people's body language and ask questions so that their clients get the results they want to enjoy their life in the new space. We can't wait for you to experience how enjoyable, fun and fulfilling the architectural and design process can be for a homeowner, whether it's a new home or a smaller remodel. Even if you're not looking to embark on a project right now, you will learn so much from this conversation as Sara and Marcy share their tips for anyone who is thinking about making even the smallest change to their space.
Chisel architecture has a special offer for our listeners. Simply email [email protected] and mention this podcast to receive $50 off your two-hour consultation. Consultations must be booked by June 30th to take advantage of this offer.
At the time we recorded this episode, Chisel Architecture was working toward having the home in mentioned in the podcast conversation on the Artisan Tour. The home is no longer on the Artisan Tour, however, the good news is that this same home will be on the 2021 Midwest Home Luxury Home Tour, which runs July 30- August 1, August 6-8 and August 13-15 (noon-6pm each day). The home is located at 5104 Thotland Road, Golden Valley, MN.
