We are thrilled to bring you today's guest, Sue Groner, an experienced mother, certified positive discipline parent educator and author of her new book, "Parenting with Sanity and Joy: 101 Simple Strategies."
Sue is passionate about helping parents to become more happier and more relaxed while parenting. And who doesn't want to be happy and relaxed even during those challenging parenting moments?
Sue believes that what we often view as problems that need fixing, are in fact opportunities for our kids. We talk about the fear that we have as parents about who our child(ren) will become as adults and how worrying can hold us back from enjoying the parenting experience.
As an experienced mother, Sue Groner knows how stressful and overwhelming parenting can be at times. She founded The Parenting Mentor to provide an ally for parents in their quest to raise confident and resilient children. Sue is also the creator of the CLEARR method of parenting, developed through years of trial (and her fair share of errors!) with her own family. CLEARR adheres to the belief that parenting strategies should be grounded in six important pillars: Community, Love, Empathy, Awareness, Rules and Respect.
A graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a former advertising executive, Sue resides in New York City and Bedford, NY with her husband, two children (when they are not away at school) and their rescue dog. She is available for private, group and virtual mentorship sessions nationwide for individuals as well as corporations.
We met Sue through HeyMama, which is a private, social and professional network created to propel mothers forward in work and life. It is a community that provides ambitious women—across industries and stages of motherhood—with support, mentorship and experiences to foster their success.

We are thrilled to bring you today's guest, Tammy Mann, the Founder/CEO of a food brand producing sustainable, nutritional, and very tasty foods fueled by crickets. Yes. Crickets!
Tammy is a mom, former creative director, triathlete, and now a full fledged cricketeer/foodie on a mission to make crave-able, sustainable, nutritional foods fueled by crickets.
Struggling with gut health and not able to find a protein solution to sustain her through long workouts, Tammy stumbled upon cricket protein powder. Like most Americans, the idea of eating bugs grossed her out, but she was willing to give it a try. There was a noticeable improvement in all aspects of her dietary needs: better gut health, more energy and she felt fueled to go significantly longer!
This is when the light went on and Tammy saw a huge opportunity: Create quality, crave-able, nutritional cricket fueled foods!
Now as the Founder/CEO of Harmony Cricket Farm in Minneapolis MN, her mission is to make a positive impact on our earth by changing Americans perception of eating insects. The journey begins with darn good cookies and ends with a happier, healthier planet and YOU!
At Harmony Cricket Farm they believe we all can and should EAT good. FEEL good. DO good. The humble and tasty cricket is a great way to do just that.
During our conversation we talk about how crickets are a nutritional power-packed superfood high in protein, iron, calcium, B12 and omega-3s. You will also learn that crickets support gut health and your immune system, in addition to being a complete protein with amino acids and making it easy for your body to digest and use for energy.
By enjoying crickets you will also be doing good for the planet because they use less water and feed than cows.
Tammy recommends adding just 1/4 cup a day of cricket powder to your favorite recipes including smoothies, baked goods, salads and even soups/chili. Head over to her site and order her delicious cookies today and you'll also find recipes on how to easily incorporate cricket protein powder into your life.

We are thrilled to bring you today's guest, Julie Burton. Julie Burton has spent the past two decades working as a freelance writer, author, self-care advocate, fitness instructor, and teacher while mothering her four children alongside her husband of 27 years. Co-founding the Twin Cities Writing Studio in 2015 and publishing The Self-Care Solution: A Modern Mother's Guide to Health and Well-Being in 2016, she combined her passion for writing, self-care, and empowering people to be their best selves, she founded ModernWell—the first women-centered co-working and wellness space in Minneapolis.
Julie writes and speaks about motherhood and self-care and her work has been featured in many local, national, and international media stories on topics relating to motherhood, self-care, entrepreneurship, and women-focused co-working spaces. She lives in Minnetonka, Minnesota, with her family.
Stephanie and I actually met at ModernWell and started collaborating with each other shortly there after. We both love the space and working out of there and we want to give a special shout-out to Julie for creating such an amazing space.
In today's episode we dive into the important topic of self-care and why it is ever so important in this time of crisis for many people who are trying to balance home and work life in the midst of all this fear and uncertainty.
We really dive into the meaning of self-care - and we are not talking about weekly manicures - but we really dive deep to unpack what a person needs to take care of their mental health and physical well-being. You will not want to miss this important episode.

We are thrilled to bring you today's guest, Andrew Kap, who has been an entrepreneur on and off for 20 years and author of "The Last Law of Attraction Book You'll Ever Need To Read".
Andrew Kap holds one goal above all others through his various projects: Genuine and Sustainable Impact. He often focuses on topics that many find overwhelming, and he then condenses them into actionable, more consumable content.
Andrew shares how his own life experiences and hardships brought him to the point of writing his latest book, which has enjoyed continued success, including hundreds of 5-star rave reviews, #1 Best Seller status in multiple categories on Amazon. Andrew also has a growing YouTube channel devoted to it.
In today's episode we dive into the exciting topic of the law of attraction that will benefit everyone and a concept that we haven't covered yet on the podcast.
Andrew shares how based on his experience, that what you focus on creates your reality. We are all vibrational in nature and whatever you vibrate at including your thoughts will attract other light elements or energies.
He also shares how even those people who don't believe in the law of attraction can still get results by using his methods.
Andrew's strategy has already started to work for Marnie and I in our podcast business and it was so cool and energizing to see how shifting your mindset can really help you manifest your desires.
In today's conversation you'll learn tangible techniques to practice gratitude and the law of attraction including ones that you can do with your kids. Andrew shares the technique of scripting and how you can use this to create the life you want to have in the future.
This episode is so well placed in this current pandemic environment and as we head into the last few months of 2020, as many people are looking to set goals to make 2021 their best year ever.

We are thrilled to bring you today's guest, Joe Connelly, who is the founder & CEO of Visana Health, a digital care program and app for women with endometriosis and other pelvic pain conditions. Joe started Visana after watching his mom suffer from endometriosis for 25 years. After working for Boston Scientific as a medical engineer, Joe left his job to pursue this passion of his full time. In today's conversation, Joe shares his vivid recollection of his mother's pain and his memories of her screaming in bed and throwing up because the pain of her menstrual cycle was so bad. His mother's condition was undiagnosed for two decades during which time Joe believed that the monthly pain she suffered from was a normal thing that happened to all women. His aunt and grandma also suffered from endometriosis.
Joe's story and experience with his mom drove him to leave his job within the past year and pursue his passion to help women reduce the pain and suffering in order to live normal lives. Visana health's goal and focus is to address the underlying root cause of the pain versus taking birth control and undergoing surgery, which may only suppress the symptoms.
In our conversation Joe shares several lifestyle changes that you can make to address these symptoms, which can help anyone with unwanted menstrual discomfort, not just someone diagnosed with endometriosis. Joe's holistic platform focuses on four pillars, which include pelvic floor physical therapy, disease education, nutrition and cognitive behavior therapy; it also provides accountability for their clients.
Joe shares how many women have unnecessary surgeries including hysterectomies. Visana Health empowers people to have access to underused resources, such as pelvic therapy, to improve the pain in women using clinically validated methods, what they can do on their own to reduce their pain. We love how Visana Health takes a holistic view to improve the quality of life of women, which we are firm believers in as well.
I think it's fair to say that most, if not all of us, know of someone who has had to miss work or other commitments because of their painful periods.
This new program that Joe has poured his heart and soul into is finally giving women all over the world hope and a clear path as to how they can reduce their symptoms and finally live pain free. This episode is one that everyone will learn from, regardless of whether you or anyone you know suffers from endometriosis or other related conditions. Joe shares some practical tips and tricks that someone can implement immediately, including which foods and supplements have been proven to reduce menstrual pain.
Special Offer for our Listeners:
Joe is offering a special discount on their direct to consumer program. Simply email [email protected] and mention the AOLW podcast.
