What a match. #BrentfordFC bossed the first half. Two up. Should have been three but missed a penalty. Brighton came back to 2-2. Bees score in extra time but Brighton score with the last head of the game.

What a difference 72 hours makes. After being torn apart by a vey good Chelsea side (4-0) where Brentford quite simply didn’t really turn up, Aston Villa came to Griffin Park for the first time in 60 years and were torn apart by an absolutely rabid Brentford side to record their first victory against Villa ever (3-0).
The Beesotted crew met in the Virtual Joint pub to discuss the Bees’ contrasting fortunes over the two matches as well as reflecting on the transfer window that slammed shut a couple of hours after the Villa fail whistle that saw Hogan leave the nest for Villa for £12m and Sergi Canos join the Bees from Norwich.

Villa came to Griffin Park for the first time in the league since 1947. And, after an initial 20 minute spell from Villa, totally dominated the match - playing Villa off the park at times to win 3-0 comfortably.

Brentford fans went to Chelsea hoping their team would put on a show. But the Bees failed to turn up apart for 10 minutes in the 2nd half.
