NDP Leader Avi Lewis is pushing Carney's newly-elected majority government to enact legislation that would ban surveillance pricing. This would mean businesses would not be allowed to use your personal data like search history to change their pricing.
It comes less than a month after he was elected as the leader of the Federal NDP, and alongside another idea to help food affordability: public grocery stores. The City of Toronto is moving forward with its own public grocer pilot project starting next spring.
Host Caryn Ceolin speaks to NDP Leader Avi Lewis to discuss how the Carney government could crunch the numbers to allow for publicly-funded grocers, and why a ban on algorithmic-based pricing will help everyday Canadians.

Meet the Neffy, the needle-free nasal spray epinephrine used to treat anaphylaxis. It's the first of its kind in Canada and it may very well pave the way for improving access to allergy care to come.
Host Maria Kestane speaks to Dr. Mariam Hanna, a pediatric allergist and clinical immunologist to discuss why Canada could be seeing an increase in allergies, what makes the Neffy so accessible and treatment-friendly, and why it's taken us this long to get a budget friendly version of the life-saving drug on the market.

The Ontario Government seems to have interest in overhauling the existing education system.
From the idea of a CEO and a CEdO (Chief Education Officer), to tying attendance records to final grades, or capping the amount of trustees at a school board, Minister Paul Calandra has eyes on streamlining and tightening where funds go and who gets to spend them. Families, unions and educators alike however, aren't too keen on the changes, claiming the government is pushing its education ministry into corporatization.
Host Caryn Ceolin speaks to Kelly Gallagher-Mackay, an education policy expert at Wilfred Laurier University to discuss the changes, how they're going to affect the day-to-day workings of students and teachers, and what the future of education in Ontario could look like.

And with governments only just starting to talk about regulating social media for teens, are we as a society ready for the tidal wave that will be when AI is fully integrated?
Host Mike Eppel speaks with Professor Richard Lachman from the RTA school of media at Toronto Metropolitan University to discuss what Ottawa can do and what Canadians could expect.

Ever heard of a NEET? Someone who's not educated, employed or training. According to a 2025 Statistics Canada report, 11% of the country's youth are NEET, with Black, Chinese and highly-educated immigrants being disproportionately affected.
Host Maria Kestane speaks to Linda Nazareth, economist, futurist and host of the Work in the Future podcast to discuss how NEETs have long-term impacts on Canada's economy and how we can support young folks through this transitionary period.
Linda discusses more in her new book The End of Entry-Level Jobs: How AI, Demographics, and Economic Pressure Are Rewriting the Talent Pipeline, which will be out later this year.

Why does it feel like everyone's a fitness influencer these days?!
Posting workout videos without science-based advice is one thing, but promoting supplements that aren't only mislabeled but sometimes not even legally on the market is another. And it's more common than you think.
Host Maria Kestane speaks to Rohil Daliwal, an associate researcher at Mass General Brigham to discuss the highly-saturated and barely-regulated workout supplement market.
