Are you READY to start living a healthy lifestyle? Have you put a date on when you'll start and you are secretly dreading starting because you haven't done much in a while...I have totally been there friend! In fact until this year I would always sit down and write out my "New Years Goal" but I think what's really important is thinking about the things you'd like to accomplish in a year, five years and then make a plan to start NOW to move the needle forward. Over the past few years I've made new goals before the new year; moving forward I am going to be evaluating my progress in certain areas of my life where I'd like to make progress and adjust when I need to verse waiting for the New Year to adjust and hit a goal. Here are a few ways I plan to do this.
1. Each week (usually Sunday) I will go over how my previous week went, what goals did I set out for that week, where could I improve for the following week. And one of the most important things is celebrate the progress I did make!
2. Anytime I have a setback, I am going to allow myself to feel the feels, but within a couple of hours or no more than a day to feel whatever I need to and then I am going to pick myself up, dust myself off, learn from the curve ball and keep moving forward.
3. I'm going to fill my cup up first. I never really understood what this meant until I began doing the things I truly enjoy and found fulfillment with my routine and life. But when I start my day with doing the things I really enjoy I am that much more of a joyful human.
By starting now we are less likely to train ourselves to "wait" for that right time to start that thing on our heart. By getting into the mentality of doing it now, you'll feel so much more momentum, accomplishment, joy and let's me honest who doesn't want to feel that amazing!? So stop saying tomorrow, next week, next month or next year. That thing you said you wanted JUST FREAKING DO IT FRIEND!!!!
