Lisa Rein, national reporter for The Washington Post, talks about how the United States Postal Service has been hit hard financially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here's what some listeners had to say:
@BrianLehrer I’m listening to your post office segment...I’m a college educated rural carrier for the past 23 years. We’re management heavy, and prefunding retirements are jilting is back. It takes longer to deliver packages thAn mail. We need to charge more for package delivery.

@BrianLehrer So important to discuss size of USPS workforce and the #’s of Veterans who work for it. This should have a political downside in Trump attempting to dismantle not only the Institution, but hurt constituencies he needs to be re-elected. @NYCVetsAlliance

I'm no Trump supporter, but shouldn't the internet giants like Ebay, Amazon, Walmart etc. partner with the USPS since they rely on it as part of their business model? Or be taxed at a rate that helps the USPS stay viable? The guys at the top are pretty rich off the USPS after all.

@BrianLehrer #SaveTheUSPS Thank you letters, birthday cards, and condolence notes are infinitely more gracious than correspondence via internet.Letters also have far greater impact on politicians than signatures on cyber petitions

@BrianLehrer great story on USPS. No one is talking abt eBay n all the people who buy n sell there. If rates go up it effects lots of reg people who are able to make money even during this time of massive unemployment. Postal workers are heroes, delivering to us daily, even now.
