  • Personal Brand
More and more people are spending a lot of time online promoting their own personal brands. Classy headshots for Twitter, finely crafted career announcements on LinkedIn, is it all about style over substance? Our reporter Siofra Mulqueen has been finding out.

  • Cally Beaton
Cally Beaton had a high flying career as a TV executive overseeing a multi million dollar budget for brands such as MTV, Nickelodeon and Paramount and was responsible for shows such as South Park and Spongebob Squarepants. But she swapped the boardroom for the comedy cellar after she received career advice from a Queen of comedy.

  • The Naomh Eanna
Staying with a nautical theme, there were quite a bit of discussion this week about the fate of the Noamh Eanna - a much loved ship, well a previously much loved ship, that’s now languishing in Dublin Dock. It was a ship that transported customers and cattle between the various Aran Islands and Galway City. Maura Derrrane remembers.

  • Terry Downes
My next guest started out working on construction sites with his Irish born father before going on to do a PhD in Cambridge. Early on in his career he travelled extensively when he was working for a London based construction company that sourced many of their materials from the developing world. After that he specialised in reversing the fortunes of struggling companies which led to him taking on his current role with Sealaska, which is one of 13 corporations owned by native Alaskan people. Under the umbrella of Sealaska, he has set up Woocheen, a $500 million business, based in Seattle, that specialises in ocean health. Terry Downes joins me now.

  • Understanding Economics
The Chancellor Jeremy Hunt’s video explaining economics with stacked coffee cups and some propaganda masked as an explainer thrown into the flat white mix! It was dubbed Mr Bean-esque economics. • Crypto Currency
The Governor of the Central Bank, Gabriel Makhlouf, nailed his colours to the mast this week when he called for the advertising of all cryptocurrency products aimed at young people to be banned. Although new EU legislation is to grant the Central Bank regulatory powers involving stable coins, where the value is tied to a currency or commodity such as gold, the new laws won’t extend to unbacked crypto currencies. I’m joined now in studio by financial advisor Paul Merriman.

  • Biomimicry
Over hundreds of years humans have been learning from animals how to adapt to various environments. Animals have inspired so many inventions, from submarines inspired by whales, to cats eyes inspired by well cats. But can biomimicry help us create a more sustainable world? Siofra Mulqueen has this report.
