🪞 Self-Connection vs. Self-Focus
Rooted in awareness, honesty, and compassion Listening to what’s going on in your heart, body, and mindInviting God into your thoughts and emotionsAsking questions like:
➤ “What am I feeling right now?”
➤ “What do I need?”
➤ “Is this thought aligned with truth?” It helps you respond instead of reactIt creates space for growth, healing, and Spirit-led action ✨ Self-connection says:
“I’m checking in with myself so I can show up in alignment with God’s truth.”
Rooted in comparison, control, or perfectionism Obsessed with how you look, perform, or measure upConstantly evaluating yourself through the world’s standardsLeads to self-judgment, anxiety, and strivingKeeps you in your own head—and disconnected from God and others😓 Self-focus says:
“I have to fix myself to be enough.”
Self-connection leads to surrender and transformation Self-focus leads to shame and striving One is Spirit-led.
The other is self-led.
If you’re in a season of learning to take care of your health, emotions, or habits, self-connection will help you tune into what’s really going on—so God can meet you there.
We use the world’s standards to judge ourselves - disconnection
