This episode will cover the final case in Part One of our series on Ireland's Vanishing Triangle. On the next episode we will have a special guest that will join Ciaran and Shayne to wrap up Part One of Ireland's Vanishing Triangle. Then we will move onto to part 2 of the series and begin with an unsolved murder from 1987.

When Deirdre Jacob set off from her parents house on the 28th July 1998 to run a few errands in her hometown of Newbridge, she had her whole life ahead of her. She was getting ready to return to her second year of studies to become a teacher in Twickenham. So, what happened? Deirdre was last seen just a few yards from the gate of her family home. She has not been seen of heard of since.

In a quiet corner of Wexford, someone holds the secret as to what happened to 19-year-old, mother of one, Fiona Sinnott. Fiona was last seen walking out the door of her local pub and into a dark night to make the 1km journey back to her home. She was last seen on the 9th of February 1998.

On the 23rd August 1996, the busy midlands town of Tullamore found itself at the centre of mystery that continues to this very day. Local girl Fiona Pender disappeared from the flat that she shared with her boyfriend. Her disappearance is highly unusual because at the time she went missing she was 7 months pregnant with her first child and busy preparing for its arrival. Nobody has seen or heard from Fiona Pender since, but this case continues to have unexpected twists and turns. 

Joining Ciaran to discuss this unsolved case is series regular Shayne Phelan.

Ireland's Vanishing Triangle Part One Episode One

Welcome to the first episode in our series on Ireland's Vanishing Triangle with your host Ciaran McConnell.

The perishable goods in the plastic bag which had been left on a table in a Sandymount apartment, was a clear indicator that something was wrong. Where was 27-year-old American woman Annie McCarrick? For the last 3 decades there have been many leads but unfortunately no success in the search to find out what happened to Annie.

In the first half of this episode Ciaran is joined by regular series contributor Shayne Phelan were they discuss the facts of the case.

In the second half of the episode F.B.I Investigator Kenneth Strange discusses the case with Ciaran. Kenneth has a personal connection with the case. Kenneth Knew Annie who was a friend of his little sister. Kenneth has become involved in the search for Annie at the behest of Nancy McCarrick, Annie’s mother.

Welcome to our two part series on Ireland's Vanishing Triangle. Part one of the series will cover eight unsolved murder and missing person cases between the years of 1993 and 1998. In six of these eight tragic cases there is a suspect that was known to the victim and they have either been arrested or questioned by Gardi at some point. And in the two remaining cases suspects have been arrested or questioned by Gardi, but these suspects were not previously known to the victim.

Part Two of the series on Ireland's Vanishing Triangle will cover four cases from South Dublin, between the years of 1987 and 2004. In two of these cases the victim's body has been found and in the remaining two cases the victim is still missing. There is no known suspects in these four cases nor have any arrests been made by Gardi, there is no reports concerning persons of interest that were known to the victims and the reason for the victims murders and disappearances remain a mystery.

Who was the driver or occupants of the Toyota car that 21 year old Jojo Dollard hitched a lift from to bring her to the next stage of her unplanned journey that dark, cold autumn night. Jojo has not been heard from since.
